This is a work for computer-rendered digital sampling devices producing sustained tones from what was already captured in the discrete, binary recording medium, arranged minus original context.
THUS: You are hearing something only vaguely familiar.
Digital samplers approximate environments which they are incapable of understanding by their very nature. They alter sounds when a body beyond them dictates rules by which they can temporally reprint what we feed them. They can alter their reproductions as time flows.
THUS: The media may be static, but the interpretation never is.
Forms of synthesis in and of themselves are quite often dominant within the context of electronic music, but electronic music's earliest roots also lie within fixed media altered electronically, as in the works of Halim El-Dabh and Pierre Schaeffer. When electricity is comparatively omnipresent in the information age today, music seems to itself become information, but something deeper than information underlies the actions of artists.
THUS: Even though this is data, it breathes for I breathe, speaks for I speak.
